Pedal Paddle Pace Event – A Triathalon With A Difference

Yesterday, the Macmillan Pedal Paddle Pace event returned to the streets of Winchester for the ultimate test in Triathlon. The event, which was established in 2004 has raised over £100,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event attracts hundreds of keen fundraisers who take on a challenging 20km bike ride,  5km run and a 2 km kayak to finish. Once again, 99 Bikes proudly provided free mechanical support for any cyclist looking for a quick tune-up, gear or brake adjustment before the race.

Qued up and 10 people deep, our Winchester Store Manager Russ was very busy ensuring all of the riders had safe, well-adjusted cycles. “What a great relaxed atmosphere and a fantastic way to immerse yourself into a competitive multi event sport. All abilities and ages were represented. Good coffee was available as was a BBQ!”

Right on the trackside, the Hargroves mechanic zone positioned right next to the transition zone.

It was a 20km Bike ride to start the PPP Triathlon…just look at that elevation!

Next up? A 5km run in the Winchester City Center.
